If you have a hybrid stringing job on your racket, and one string breaks, do you just have to replace that one string or do you have to replace both?

most breaks are the mains (vertical) strings. since those are strung first before the crosses means you have to replace the whole thing.

besides the knots are so tight (or should be) that cutting them off anyway would be a problem.

if your busting hybrid strings often you need to relax a bit on the topspin... too much is never good for your game or your arm.

You should almost always cut out the rest of the strings and re-string the entire racket. The only exception is if you break the main strings on the first day and can re-string immediately. Or if you break a cross-string in the first two-days and can re-string immediately. Any time after the first two days you should just cut them out and re-string the entire racket. If you don't you can end up with a distorted frame or a severe drop in tension.

It's best to replace both strings.

You should probably go to a tennis shop and ask them what the best thing to do would be. I think it is probably best if you restring your raquet. I broke a few strings once and it made it immposible for me to play
