Patriots have at least 3 flags, not counting the ones on their car, wave them around a lot, and believe every damn thing whoever is president says, especially if there is a war involved. And beat up everybody else. And call them liberals. They used to call them communists, but now they like communists better, reminds them of the good old days, and some of them are too young to remember that stuff, so they settle for liberals.

I was going to say "good human being" right up until you said
"and wraps himself in the flag."

As said before: Patriotism IS Nationalism. Nationalism IS
Patriotism.

Neither are good if you aren't from the same country as the
person you are describing.

I would rather have people concerned about other people's
welfare, regardless of where they come from than prefer
people who happen to be within the same borders.

I'll take "cares for other human beings" over "patriot" ANY DAY.

Loving ones country is not about being linked to a political party or overly zealous regarding the flag of your nation, but if you've had the sad experience of having that flag draped over your father, brother or husband's coffin you have the right to whatever feelings you have about it ......really whats' the flag got to do with blindly following? You know what they say about assuming...?

It's someone who blindly follows and wraps himself in the flag.

It's about loving one's country & upholding the laws of justice & freedom & pride in our homeland & having the right to speak out.

It is NOT about rubberstamping some asinine president's justifications for war.

A patriot is someone who loves his country but not necessarily the people around him.

A patriot stands up for the country, and is willing to die for it. Not a whiner who makes excuses for being a wuss
