I'm just curious since I have kids and they are always getting into things but nothing serious has happened. I'm sure it's not outside the realm of possibility since no home or environment is 100% safe.

While anything large enough to obstruct the airway would be the most obvious answer I'd have to say Visine eyedrops b/c it only takes a tiny amount to kill a small child and it's something that many parents have just lying around the house, it has no safety cap and many people are unaware of the danger.

Straight pins from the quilt I was working on. He was 9 months old.. I looked away, looked back and he's smiling all silver. My heart stopped until I was sure I had them all out of his little mouth. He had managed to get his hands on 4.

Once my aunt had those bath beads you get from Bath and Body Works..well she left them out cause she was getting ready to take a bath..She went to her room to get her things and her 1 year old found them and put 1 in his mouth..It was one of the medium sized ones i guess because it became stuck in hs throat..she called 911 and rushed him to the E R...the doctor said just minutes longer and he would have died..So I guess she and him were lucky

A kid on the news ate a couple of magnets. They got into his intestines and stuck together in opposing parts and sealed off part of his digestive tract. He died!!

ortho weed killer. when my brother was a baby my mom parked her cart next to the weed killer while she was looking at something. my brother picked some dried, crusty, residue from around the cap and my mom caught him. he was rushed to the hospital and his stomach was pumped... THAT was some drama!

when my son was about 2 he got into my birth control pills and ate some... the doctor told me not to worry about it though.

when my daughter was 3 she ate one of my diamond earrings... she could have punctured something... she had to have surgery to remove it from her stomach as they didn't want it to go through her intestines.

Change. A penny is very small and could possibly block a child's trachea. They're also very thin, and DIRTY.
