You bet'cha! The average age a womans periods stop is 52 but you start skipping and having irregular cycles about 5 years or more before. You're right on target! ; ) Just be careful because as long as you havent gone at least one year without a period, you can still get pregnant.

Absolutely! I started at age 44 which my doctor said is young. It has been miserable for me. I refuse to do the hormone therapy so I'm just suffering through it. A simple blood test can tell if you are beginning menopause.

You are at the normal age for menopause to start. Your GYN doctor may be helpful in helping you understand what to expect.
It really isn't bad at all.

right before you go through menopause you become extremely fertile. You may have had unprotected sex for years, and right before you end your period your pregant. Also, if your a diabetic who takes Actos, it can mess with your cycle. If you started any new meds consider that too.

You have definitely started to go through the change. It sounds to me like you should be through with your period somewhere around the age of 52. But, to be on the safe side, I would talk with your doctor.

I would go to my GYN first to make sure nothing physical is the problem; usuallly with menopaause periods cease to happen, i.e, you may skip a month or so.

Sounds definitely like menopause. But I would see your Ob/Gyn soon if I were you.
