there is a popping when you turn and some times when you start to move. my wife was hit on the right side by a pickup truck when she was passing him. after being hit she went in to the ditch on the left side of the road. the chevy dealer fixed the damage and i took it back when i drove it and the mech. said he thought it was a strut so they changed it and that stoped it for about a day. now after taking it back to them they are tell mr that alot of the chevy cars and suvs are having this problem and that they can grease the shaft for a quick fix that would last about 6 mos or change the shaft for 200.00 and it my still come back after 30,000 miles. now state farm don't want to pay for this repair. i was not there before the wreck.

popping? is this car customized? all the elements of the front end including the steering need to be checked. sounds like they are not being thorough enough. if you are still having issues after the dealer then go to another chevy dealer. has the car ever been hit? check the tires and wheels too.

after reading what you added then I recommend you take this car to another dealer. the insurance needs to pay if it is accident related unless you closed the claim. but a good insurnace agent should help. back on the front end thing - brake can cause a popping if not installed properly. please do have a mech look at the steering since the noise is when the car is moving and turning. also the wheels and rubber. always start with the simple and then go into the more serious. Just like when the lamp doesn't go on - do you hire an electrician or just check to see if the lamp has a bulb? Understand?

Dealers are in the business to make LOTS of money from you and me. Don't accept the noise thing as a normal for Chevy's. Yes, there are vehicles that have certain little issues that are typical of the make but it didn't do it till the accident. If no one can find out what is going on then you have a choice to sell or keep it with the problem. Noise means that something is not working properly - Bottom line!

Owned a new Chevy pick-up for 6 months. Drove off the lot and then discovered it needed to go back for a recall. Then I noticed the doors and hood were wearing the paint off - back to the dealer. Sold truck because it lived at the dealer for 3 of the 6 months i owned it. I drive a mercedes now.

Did you just have brakes installed? Sounds like your pads are on backwards. This happened to me once. It sounded exactly like a POPPING noise.
