Honey, I am so sorry to hear that. That is mental abuse! To be completely honest with you, I think you should either seek counseling together or leave him. If he is already saying these things to you, what will it be like if you were to ever marry? He is supposed to be on his best behavior..and if this is it...oh boy! Be careful...you can lose yourself in this sort of relationship..forget who you are and that you are worthy. Don't let him do this to you...I suggest an ultimatuum...counseling for the two of you together or leave him. I'm sorry this happend and I want you to know that I commend you for how far you have come. Keep up the great work and keep your chin up!

I am in a wheelchair and I know how you feel.I have been called all sorts of things and they can be very depressing and hurtful.I have learnt that the only reason people call me names like cripple and useless is because they can't stand to see me adjusted to having to live my life in a wheelchair.I know my legs and my back will never be the same again due to diabetes but as long as I have my hands and my mind i am only as crippled as I want to be and they can all put their heads back in the sand and find something else better to pick on.Don't let these comments get you down as no matter what you are always going to be the wonderful person you were before any accident it is just the outside that has changed.

Kick his a ss to the curb how disgusting that he would say something like that to you.

You were paralized for s hits sake and you can now walk again so you have a little limp whats the big deal you have come further than a lot of people are able to.

Be proud of your accomplishment and don't let him put you or your condition down.

Stay strong

Hi
Reading your q I don't know whether to yell or cry. That is one of the most disgusting, slackest things I have ever heard anyone say. I think you should dump him. He deserves to be single if he treats those he supposedly loves like that. Like how Mel Gibson will for ever now be stained as a racist no matter how much he apologises, this guy will for ever in your mind think of you as a cripple.
I think you should be very proud of yourself. You have learned to walk again after being paralised and that is a huge achievement. So what if you have a limp? Lots of people walk with a limp for all sorts of reasons. Find a guy who respects you and treats you the way you deserve to be treated.
B

I read back on some of the other questions you put in about your BF. Don't take offense to this, but your boyfriend is a jack ***.

You should get out of that relationship unless he straightens up. Tell him, "you are being a jack ***. I am leaving you." If he doesn't even try to stop you, I hate to say it, but he really doesn't love you. You'll need to find somebody else. I dunno if Steve L, here, is your choice of man, but there are plenty of guys out there who will be nicer to you than that.

Off the record: a 9-iron to the knee cap makes anybody limp. You might want to give him a few days of being "crippled".

What an uncaring, unfeeling, I'm trying hard to keep this clean, but you get the idea. I am recovering from a major stroke and it is hard work I need encouragement from those around me, not put-downs. Free advice: get rid of the SOB and find someone who appreciates all you have accomplished. Better to be alone for a time than to be mistreated. You can always come here, if you need to; we'll cheer you up. Or you can e-mail me, if you like

That was really a mean thing to say. Really bad. I think I would tell him how much it upset you to see what response you get from him. If he thinks it's not a big deal then he's not the guy for you. Find yourself another boyfriend that will accept you for you and respect you. Your NOT worthless, never think that.

That was a really terrible thing for him to say! You need to tell him how he makes you feel. If he doesn't stop then you need to consider leaving him. You don't deserve to be treated that way. You are no different than anyone else, you are a human being too.

Your boyfriend is a clueless, uncaring idiot!!! You have overcome so much.......so what if you have a limp.... before you didn't have the ability to walk, to me you are an awesome person and a great role model in strength and determination........ If he is so stupid as not to see how awesome you are, you don't need him......... who wants negativity in their lives anyhow????
