What does everyone think of the Scottish?

I am an American, part Scottish and French, and I was wondering what everyone thought of the Scottish?

I knew a really cool guy name Paul Maloney who was from Scotland. He had an accent and everything. He was awesome. He was really funny and really tall (6"4'). I remember he used to scream "SUCK MY HAGGIS!" as an insult because apparently haggis is some sort of meat. (I'm American, by the way.) Also he did this Mary Poppins dance in the pool where he would put on one of those rubber floaty tubes made for four year old girls. It was hilarious.

That's about my entire impression of Scottish people.

Because Scotland is seldom in the U.S. news, I seldom think of the Scottish people. My feelings are neutral about them. I generally think that people are people, no matter where they're from.

I'm part: English, Dutch, Scottish, German, French, and Cherokee, but I consider myself an American. The French have
a reputation for being arrogant and rude but I have never been there, so I don't really know.

I think a lot of Europeans don't like Americans but I think that's because they're arrogant and jealous.

All of this was meant to lead up to the point that it doesn't matter what people think about a nationality. It's what our character is that matters.

I apologize for getting on my soap box if this more than what you wanted to hear. My x-wife was full blooded Norwegian and to her
anything Norwegian was better than anything else. Naturally, since I have no Norwegian in me, I resented her attitude about this.

The beautiful thing about being Scottish is that NOBODY thinks about the Scottish. Just another white guy.

As for the French, I wouldn't admit that too loudly. :-)
