On my resume what should I put on the objective for a clerical position?

I would not use the objective at all. I would clearly state your education and past history and references. I would state your objective in the cover letter or interview.

To obtain a position that will allow for career development and advancement.

Leave out the objective. It really won't hurt your chances.
