What age do you need to be to get a certificate of deposit from a bank? I am 16 and was wondering if I will need a parent to sign anything so I can get a CD.

The bank will most likely require that you are 18, but you can do it with a parent present. I managed my own money before I was 18 as well, but I always had to bring a parent along just for show. Congrats on being sharper than most teenagers in considering what means you need to achieve your goals.

In most states the age is 18, other than that the parent will have to sign.
