So you "just" met online....no need to send anyone anything. You want to risk your security by sending them your address? Send him an e-card. Have you gone to the post office and seen how expensive it is to send anything to iraq? Have you even looked at the conversion table for currency exchange? Why would you be spending that much money on someone you just met? Are you trying to start a relationship with them? He is being reasonable with you when he says he needs nothing. He is saying he doesn't want anything from you. You should listen to him. Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I have a question for you...are you trying to buy his friendship?
If he is USA military then there is a program called "operation shoe box" which people collect lots of little items (candy, cookies, books, shaving stuff, bug repellant, first aid stuff, etc.) contact them (they're probably on the search engine).

Most organizations that put together packages for soldiers suggest things like snacks (beef jerkey, chips, sweets), and personal items like toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc. Also, a book, magazine or dvd would be nice. From what I know they have access to dvd players. Also, find out what type of music they like and maybe make them a cd? Anything to remind them of home. Oh! I forgot! I was told by a friend who is over there that soldiers ALWAYS want wet-naps. Those hand wipes that you'd get if you went to a restaurant and had wings.

I hope that helps! Good luck!

deliver a 'care' kit containing effortless and functional ordinary products alongside with bathtub cleansing soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, bathroom paper, shampoo, diverse snack products that are non perishable alongside with cheese crackers etc. believe it or no longer they love getting those effortless yet a lot necessary issues. I talk from adventure because I had a reliable chum that replaced into doing duty in Iraq and those are the failings I despatched and my chum instructed me my programs were loaded with precisely the suited products.

It is kind of you to think about sending something. They need easy to send snacks (nuts, hard candy), baby wipes (the wet ones), knee highs (to keep sand out of the gun muzzle), games, calling cards, books.

my husband is in iraq. he likes beef jerky, Oreos and tuna snacks. your friend may also like those individual servings of lemonade and kool-aid. ask if he needs any personal care items too. i know that anything they get over there puts a smile on their face.
