I hand out awards every year, but they are revolve around humiliating the person based on something they did that year, so most are un-pc, but maybe they will give you ideas.

And such. The trick is to give them awards that will actually be memorable then "Can make a bed the fastest". Make awards that they will actually keep and not throw away immiediately. I photocopied a group photo of everybody behind the award so even if they care less about the award, they might keep the picture instead. Make it so that next year or what not they will be anxious to see what they get.
