when you are just so true, you tend to be in a complicating situation, when you lie they believe you.

truth is never a good policy, people for some reason get mad when they hear the truth, people want to hear what they like and call it the truth

Two things happen:
1. The lies eventually catch up to you. It's hard to maintain a lie and someone eventually finds out.
2. You tend to get comfortable with telling lies and, so, you lie about things that you shouldn't lie about (minor things or you just lie unintentionally).

These two often go hand-in-hand... in other words, you lie about so much stuff because you're comfortable with it that someone catches you on one of the little things, and they then find out about the lies of the bigger things.

In the end, your credibility is ruined because you lied about little things and so no one believes you about ANYTHING. Also, people don't trust you and they stop talking to you about anything remotely important.

So, in the long run, all your lying did was buy you time because it comes back to haunt you eventually. If you had told the truth, then there wouldn't be any of this. You wouldn't need to buy time and everybody will trust you.

I have always said that honesty is the best policy, but from personal experience I know that if you are going to tell somebody something hurtful, you should think twice. Even if you think you are doing this person a favor by being honest. In all reality you are just selfishly making your guilty conscience feel better. Just my two cents though :D

honesty always puts us in a situation we never intended to be.But honesty will get you everywhere in this world.A lot of people want to believe the lies as they are in color and the truth is just so black and white. The people who want to believe the lies are only looking for juicy gossip and the one's who want to to know the truth are always the one's who are left behind.Honesty is the best policy as the truth in any situation may take time to come out but when it does the one's who have lied are the one's who need to apologise.the honest people have nothing to be sorry for.

... it's the best policy coz lies have a tendency of coming back and hiting you in the face.
either you trip over yourself keeping up with all the lies to cover up the original one...then things just get even more complicated
or you'll be haunted by a guilty conscience for a long time.
the sad truth about lies.. instant gratification, long term expiation..

honestly? Me and my bf have a policy much like that one. And honestly, I dont think I really like it. He is sooo friggin honest about everything that it really hurts my feelings sometimes. I wish he would just give me little white lies instead of the harsh truth every now and then. I think there would be alot less fighting in our relationship if he would just sweet talk me bullshit. You know just tell me what I want to hear. Or at least feel what I want him to feel. Darn why cant I just date someone more like myself?

the first answer from perfect timing is right on the money
if you tell the truth you do not have to remember what lies you have told to who
the other reason is sooner or later the lie will come out

My ex-wife lied to me about a lot of things.Since she was so cold hearted that she was willing to lie to me I divorced her. I took her to court and used every lie she told me against her,I destoyed her reputation in court by proving she was a liar. Then I finished her off by taking every damn thing we had together right down to our son,and I did it all proper and legal.Liars are human garbage that deserve NO mercy, and from me they will get none.

By being honest you have nothing to hide, no lies to cover up. You owe people honesty and deserve to get honesty in return.

Because you'll feel better about yourself and without honesty you can never have a healthy relationship with anyone. Lies just grow bigger and bigger. They'll eat you alive!!!, Stay away I tell you!!
