Intuition is have the answer without having all the information necessary to make a decision or answer. Think of a very creative person who is very well educated in a certain field (like Dr. House on the TV show). Suddenly, he just "knows" what the answer is.

Perhaps our unconscious or subconscious is gathering information and the answer just appears to our conscious mind.

Next time you can't decide on a course of action (make it something trivial), try thinking of the problem prior to sleep and tell yourself to "solve" the problem during the night. See if you have a workable answer in the morning.

Cheers

Ask your mother--seems that moms are loaded with it! It always amazes me how my stepmother knew what I was up to before I did! That's that gut feeling you get when something is going to happen - I don't think scientists can put a finger on the mechanisms at work with intuition. ESP is a prime example-they know it works, but don't have a clue how it does.

Wow! Great answers! I had an awesome intuitive experience when my husband was in basic training 7 years ago. I had an overwhelming feeling that he was injured in some way, so I began to pray for him. That evening he called to say that he thought he had "blown" his knee during a run, but that after about an hour of resting, he was able to walk on it without much pain. After a couple of days, he was totally fine. I thank GOD that He prompted me to pray, and then answered the prayer!

Intuition is knowing, without knowing. That is, one is not taught, nor has one learned, but is knowledgeable. It's considered to be a sixth sense. The knowing comes from within. One is either in touch with the ability, or not.

When everybody says 'Buy' your senses warn you to sell your shares. The stock market collapses and everyone loses money but you. That is an example of intuition

Intuition is the ability for our mind to "know" the outcome of an event. Basically, our mind can connect enough dots that the outcome is assured.

I believe you are referring to this definition:

Intuition (gut feeling) - a spontaneous impulse to take an immediate, unplanned action, which in retrospect, proves to be the most beneficial action to take in order to positively influence an unknown future event or situation. (Wikipedia)

It has been established that the human mind transmits and receives information at a wavelength similar to A.M. radio. There are chemical filters in the brain that screen most of these signals out, to prevent symptoms of mental illness from a conflux of information. It is speculated that schizophrenia, and the subsequent reduction of this chemical filtering, can help inspire genius as well as insanity.

Most of us are oblivious to this unseen world; and then, one day, we get a flash, or revelation, that reminds us that this capacity exists. A healthy person, then, will live in a world of blissful unawareness of his neighbor's thoughts, and be able to call on this special ability in times of crisis.

By the way, I knew you were going to ask this question!

I believe that everyone has a degree of "extra sensory perception" or ESP. In
some this is highly developed, in some it's not. the rest of us are in between highly developed and not. There are many true stories of people who are miles apart from each other and having a feeling that something happened to one or the other which did happen.
