sounds like you are young...as you know labor and pregnancy is hard but can be the most beautiful moment in your life...there will be a time when you can't give birth anymore...and that will be sad even if you don't want kids anymore...you should concentrate on the beauty of having a child and not the pain...you have to go through all the prickers to get to the rose..

I was scared with my second. My first 2 were only 14 months apart. My first child was a boy and I labored 28 hours with him and had no medication. My second was a girl and I was SCREAMING epidural at 4 cm. She was all back labor. So the saying that the first is your hardest doesn't always hold true. BTW she was a 14 hour labor so it did get cut in half.

I am trying for my second and I am scared I will have the same difficult time.
I had bad cramps (doubled over), spotting, and horrible morning sickness until I was 5 months. During my fifth month I got to enjoy being pregnant with no pains and my daughter had just started kicking. FOR ONE MONTH! At 6 months the braxton hicks (that my doctor said more like REAL contracts and to pay VERY close attention to them) and major back pain kicked in. I went into labor tuesday at 3 am (jan 18 2005), back labor, I had NO CLUE and went to work. Ended up cussing out an older coworker to leave me the F*** alone because she kept telling me to get up and I just wanted to sit (i was ALLOWED to), she went and told the manager who asked me to go home or let him take me to the hospital, I said I was FINE and to just LEAVE ME ALONE. He told everyone to leave me ALONE! The back pain got worse Wed morn at 3 AM and by 10 I called the doctor. I got there at 11 and he said I was 7 cm and to go straight to labor and delivery, i was given an epi (i couldn't stand the back pain) and she was born at 5:16. I was in labor for a little over 38 hours (33 hours without drugs and I worked a full shift and 5 hours with an epi).
It does have me scared because I also didn't get much help from coworkers which made the pregnancy even HARDER. I am excited, but still scared. I can't wait to get pregnant again, I just really hope it goes a lot easier this time.

I had a very easy pregnancy and labor with both my children.
I did not have melds with either one of them. I was not scared either time. Some people have bad experiences with the first delivery and are naturally scared the second time around.
All will be fine :)

Take meds this time if you're scared, with my first..I felt so strongly that no meds were important..the last one I read Epideral..and felt much better after..
