why can't I have fun and not have so many rules. my parents have too many rules for me. i cant date, cant go to the mall, cant have my ears pierced, cant wear fashionable clothes. waa waa waa

Because, there are sick bastards out there that will take advantage of you in ways you can't even imagine and your parents are just trying to protect you from them. How old are you, are you sure that at your age you should be dating? Are you even close to finishing high school? And maybe you shouldn't burden your parents with so many things at once. Try starting small and once they understand that your able to make the right choice i'm sure they'll give you a little more freedom. Start with the ear piercing. You've got to go to your parents with an argument. Tell them why it won't be a bad thing for you to pierce your ears and then maybe you will get them to come around.

it's so you don't turn out to be a slu* . Guys will respect you more when you're older.
Your parents are only looking after you, because frankly they DO know what is bst for you since they themselves have went through some type of that phase you are currently in.
It is a bit hard to understand when you are younger but trust your parents.

It may seem bad to you right now, but now that I am older (19) I realize that people with parents like that have parents that love them. My parents, well, my dad never set any rules for me, but I wish he would have. I always thought he didn't care about me or if something happened to me. Your parents love you!!

awww so sad. but seriously YOU DONT HAVE YOUR EARS PEIRCD? so that means YOU NEVER WORE EARINGS?!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I got my ears perced when i was a baby. Omg that must be so sad. Anyways as for the other rules I know how you feel I cant do anything Im so trapped!

Maybe they don't think it's time for you to do those things. Maybe they don't have the money to buy you lots of fashionable clothes. I can't say cause I don't know your parents or your age.

look...i'm the oldest...i am in the beg. of my teen years. i was having prob. w/ my parents...ex. won't let me go with my cuz in her bf's car....no parties at peoples houses that they didn't know...no MTV (certain shows)...and things like that...well i got really mad and I got the barty attitude out and treated my parents like crap...it was really bad (i made my mom cry)...well my mom asked me why i was treating them like that and i told her that they didn't give me enough space/freedom....she told me it was because she was afraid for my safety and well being...well in the end she and my dad lightened up a bit and I started showing respect again...steadily I get more privalages....
DON'T DO WHAT I DID!!!! just sit down and talk with your parents and explain to them what is the matter....doing this will get you more privalages and grow your relationship w/ your parents and their trust
*You know how I told you that my mom told me she was afraid of my saftey and well being....well every parent is....look how many drugs, diesses, and flat out sick people there are out there....and coming from a girl...yes i am in shape but i couldn't take every guy that could attack me...

Overly-strict parents are a BITE, to be sure... My wife is that way as are her folks... Remember how it is now for you so when you have kids of your own, you don't wind up being the same way with them...!
