The piercing of ears is as old as the African Tribes!! The 70's gave birth to the left ear being pierced for men..if you pierced the right you were gay...now adays men pierce both which is sexy and Metrosexual has taken over.

No getting an ear piercing does not look gay, i have plenty of guy friends that have theirs done and their not gay. That stereotype is kind of out of the window, i got my nose pierced a while back an they use to say certain sides can mean your gay, but i think that is kinda out the window now because it doesn't matter what you have or wear as long as your straight then your straight lol.

I'm gay, and this is all BS XD I don't know of any system, and we all find this very humorous. It might be true that at one point somewhere this was the case, but these days people can be openly gay and don't have to signal each other. Besides, people are so metro these days that you can't really tell based on outward appearance what someone's sexual orientation is.

the way I always remember is this: left is right, right is wrong.
So for a gay man it's the other way around...they pierce the right ear. (this is no way means that I am opposed to any one's sexual orientation, it's just a play on words to help me remember)
