First of all- congrats! :)
I was extrememly nervous with my first pregnancy, and first visit. I had my husband come with me which helped a lot since he isn't a nervous type person.
Some things to expect at your first visit- you'll have to strip down and just be wearing the lovely little gown they provide you. The nurse will take your vitals (heart rate blood pressure etc) They will ask you questions about your medical history. The doctor will do a pelvic exam. (I had a pap smear and the whole nine yards since this was also my first real visit to a gynocologist) A complete pelvic doesn't really hurt, but it is uncomfortable. The main thing to remember is to try to relax- it helps the whole pelvic exam thing go much easier. (the nurse will remain in the room for most of this- most nurses make it go by so fast they will explain what they need to and talk and try to make it feel like it's going much faster.) You can also expect the doctor to feel your abdomen, and do a breast exam. Like I said none of it physically painful, but some will be uncomfortable.
Your doctor will also order up bloodwork. Some offices have that onsite, some offices have you go offsite to a lba for the blood work up. Either way, it's a simple blood draw.
Your doctor will most likely do an ultra sound too :) If you are earlier than about 10 weeks they might do an internal ultrasound. (it's a wand type thing that they put inside you 'down there' to get a the best view) Or if you are far enough along they will do a regular ultrasound on top of your tummy.
Your doctor will go over everything that he is going to do, answer any questions you have and most likely will give your a prescription for prenatal vitamins.
Most of all- just remember that your docotor does and sees this all day everyday- no need to be embarassed about anything, or hesitant about any questions you might have. :)

Ok, I'll be honest with you! If you don't think that pelvic exams are all that bad then you will be fine! The worst part during my whole pregnancy was the pelvic exams. Oh and the blood being taken (doesn't happen that often but I am terrified of needles so its probably not that bad really). Honestly, contractions were no big deal...I almost didn't have an epidural. Oh and don't be scared about getting an epidural if you need one. I think that was the thing that scared me the most throughout my whole pregnancy and it wasnt bad at all I didn't even feel it (they numb you first before doing the epidural).
Enjoy your pregnancy! Have as much fun as you can because you won't get an opportunity for a little while after you have the little one! Be sure to spend lots of time on taking care of yourself and spend time with your husband/boyfriend/signifigant other!

7 wks? No, it won't hurt. They will take some blood from you. Just remember, you are making a person right now. And down the road things might be uncomfortable. But keep yourself healthy and cash in on modern medicine. Things won't be that bad. It hurts, just a little, but it's going to be nothing compared to the pain you'll feel when your little angel goes out into the world. Enjoy this... you are creating a life. It's a beautiful thing.

Motherhood is something unique. Only women in this world have the priviledge of becoming mothers. My dear expectant mother, do not get frightened. Keep on smiling and take pride in your child whom you are going to show the light of the world in a few month's time. It will never hurt if you have the right mental attitude. There is no other happiness comparable to giving birth to a new individual i.e. your own child, your own part. Just go ahead, see your doc. I guaratee you will have a nice soothing experience. It will never hurt you rather you will have a unique feeling of happiness and pleasure. The doctor will definitely treat you in very caring and friendly manner.
Go ahead and enjoy your pregnancy.

Aww - congrats! No - it won't hurt at all. They will do a pelvic exam, just like your annual. They'll determine your EDC (due date) by asking when your last period was. They might do some bloodwork. They'll get your weight and medical history. It'll be a pretty long visit just because they have to get so much baseline info from you, but it should be relatively pleasant. Good luck!

speaking from expierence- i am due in 5 days with my first child and at my first dr visit they just do an ultra sound to see how the baby is and they do an exam like when u get a pap done and i dont know any woman who likes those but you will do fine. once you see the baby for the first time on the ultra sound you will think it was all worth it.

It will probably be a little uncomfortable, but it shouldn't hurt. They have to be very careful your first trimester. Pregnancy is scary with your first one. My baby is 32 years old, but I still remember well. But, they have come a very long way, so I am sure you will be in excellent hands.

Probably not- all they do is they'll take your height and weight, talk to you about the pregnancy and calculate a due date, then most likely they'll hook you up to a sonogram and show you your baby to make sure the heart is beating and all that good stuff.
