Paying bills on-line is relatively safe if you have spyware prevention and a bidirectional firewall in place. What you may want to check on is how long the funds transfer takes, some of these services take 7 or more days to transfer funds so unless you pay your bill a week early, you get late fees assessed. Whenever possible you should use the services available from your vendor not your bank or other service. I pay a lot of bills on-line but directly with the payee. Check with your phone, gas, electric, and cable companies if they have on-line bill pay, it is usually free and the funds are credited to your account immediately.

I use online bill pay through my bank's website and not through the actual bill's website. It's safe and I've never had a problem. It's very safe and very easy!! You don't have to worry about the check getting lost in the mail and you don't have to worry about stamps.

Some of my utility companies want to charge me more for the convenience of paying on line. Because of that I checked with my bank and now have it set up to pay most of my bills on line through the bank. I've been doing it now for about 6 months and have had no problems.

I pay bills online all the time, and I order a lot of things online with my debit card. So far no problems. I think it is the greatest.

I use online bill pay through my credit union all the time. I believe that it is perfectly safe as long as you don't tell anyone your password or Id.

Yeah it's safe, provided the PC you're using is spyware and trojan free.

Also, make sure you go directly to the website, rather than use a link from ANY email..

I wouldn't cus any sites these days can be hacked withoutthe company knowing anything about it. Even the top companys get hacked sometimes...no one is safe. if they wanna hack ur account they will find away.

It depends on the provider. Also you will find that credit cards are safer than e-checks, where you give out the numbers of your bank account...
