hi , i work as a manager at a local resturant.
we needed a good opener 5am. my second best friend was depressed and needed a job. she is sweet and honest. i worked with her 9 years ago. she was great.
but now she comes to my job, she is overbearing. she is clingy to me. she has to point out every little good thing that she does, like stocking, sweeping etc. she trys so hard to please me and the other managers. but....ive seen another side to her. when iam not there she is pouty, even rude at times. she gets orders mixed up, passes out the wrong food. she cant multitask anymore.
i can be ringing up an order on the regester & she will jump in if she thinks iam slow..lol, and take over!!! she trys to make me look dumb, but not really her intentions. just helping.(not needed) .ive been at my job 6 years, iam very capable!! its just that she has to be in everything i do! ive emailed her, talked to her, told her how i feel. she does better, then boom> too clingy again. iam very unhappy.

Sorry to say this, but it is time for you and your friend to have a parting of ways & she is the one who should go by the wayside. She sounds like she has psychological problems, depression, and no self worth. Your job depends on you letting her go. This is why friends and family should not work together. I learned this lesson years ago when I worked for my brother. Best thing was when I quit. Hard decisions ahead for you, possibly losing a friend, but you are doing her and yourself a favor.

You should have one of the other managers try to talk to her about it. It could be that she is not taking you seriously because you are friends.
