I got bored with receiving the scam letters, so I began to reply, and put a a trace on the reply. To my surprise, I found that most of the replies were being opened in Internet Cafes in Holland.
I replied with the following letter
Gone Phishing.
Would you like to join us.
We are a group dedicated to tormenting the hell out of those people who try to get us involved in a money scam. This is called Phishing.
We now have members in most countries, and have a generous sponsor to provide expenses. We have developed techniques for tracing the source of these messages, through Internet addresses, ISP's and telephone numbers.
We have developed a large range of disturbing annoyances which can be used against the perpetrators, often using what they believe to be an anonymous e-mail address.
Once we have positive identification, which in most cases is easily obtained, then we move our nearest operative into the perpetrator's neighbourhood, and begin to torment him. We do not cease until he is mentally and physically exhausted.
Typical actions include, but not limited to, cutting off the phone line, closing down web sites, flooding e-mail boxes with tens of thousands of spam letters, depositing superglue in house and car locks, blocking drains, cutting electricity supply, depositing trash in doorways, house-breaking, messing with relatives, blackmail, poisoning water supplies, permanently calling mobile phones using automatic calling software, using pneumatic drills outside premises for days on end, setting off burglar alarms in the vicinity, informing police of illegal activities, and particularly for those living in cheap rented accommodation, informing their landlord that they have undesirable characters on their premises. plus all manner of obnoxious activities. Our list is growing daily.
If you are as disappointed with these horrible people as we are, and want to help dispose of them, then just contact Gone Phishing, and you will receive details of how you can help. All you need to provide is your geographic location, so that we can inform you of the culprits in your area.
But I got bored with that too, so now I just delete them. Not had many lately

If you are wanting to know all the stories about nigerian scams just type those two words into your yahoo search engine...there are loads of them. I've heard of a few people who lost money and they were international, but there was one woman (was it on the tv show 20/20 maybe) who did what they said to do and she went to jail. Like people say: "ignorance of the law is no excuse"...and without knowing it she got herself involved in that nigerian money laundering scheme. While in jail she was so out of it that she still felt sorry for what she called the poor nigerians. I guess reality hadn't set in yet with her.

I had a guy send me an e mail saying that I had inherited $800,000 so I kept writing him back. He sent me all these papers than said I needed to pay $750 for some kind of document. I then mailed him back and told him it was nothing but a scam, and he hasn't wrote back. I even reported him.

I've not been a victim of it, but I have received the emails saying someone died, or I won some lottery, bla, bla, bla. I must admit, they are pretty creative at these things. Another thing they do will have someone pose a girl coming onto a guy. They will get the guy to send her money to come to USA to be with him. Of course they keep the money.

hummmmmmmm that's been going on for a year and a half now. People are just beginning to realize it fraud? I know I didn't have any relatives over there. People should always do a background check, before falling for the B.S.
