is equal to 43560 square feet or 4840 square yards. an acre is the measurement of area, not length.

The most standard shape for an acre is 660 feet by 66 feet. To find the linear measurements of other rectangular acres, just divide 43,560 by the number of feet you want on one side.

A square-shaped acre would then be about 208.7 by 208.7 feet (because 208.7 x 208.7 = ~43,560).

An acre is 1/640 of a square mile.

A square mile is 5280^2 = 27,878,400 square feet, so the area of an acre is 27878400 / 640 = 43,560 square feet.

Calculating the length of the side of a square acre, we get sqrt 43,560 = 208.71 feet.

So a square acre is 208.71 * 208.71 feet.
An acre can also be 200 * 217.8 feet.

Try taking sqrt(acre), the square root of an acre, in Google and see what you get. I think you get closer to 208 feet.
