does anyone know the name of the clams that come out of Lake Conroe and are they safe to eat?

If you're talking about Lake Conroe, Texas,......I wouldn't eat the clams.
THere are way too many septic systems that leach into the lake.
Also, I think I remember seeing a warning at a boat ramp about the mercury levels being high.
