Any kind of game is to relax and have fun. Video are way for people to compete, connect with people from different countries, or just escape from stress. It affects communities by giving people a way to blow off steam or they can be an alternate world for some people, one they prefer to the real one. How they influence people depend on the game and the person. Some people play violent games without increasing the violence in their real lives. Others use games as a way to increase hand eye coordination. Like everything, too much video games are bad for people. Otherwise, they're simply another tool/game to use in our lives.
