Ok, my friends and I met some guys whose friend had just been shot in the face...and a week (or two) later, we went to the funeral...We didn't know the guy much...but the day before the funeral, we had been talking abouts concerts...and how they sell shirts and patches and stuff...and then when we were at the funeral...we saw all these people wearing shirts with the guys name on it...and I was like, "I wonder if they sell patches..." and we all started laughing...but then we started feeling bad...and so we tried stopping our laughter...but we couldn't...was that a wrong comment for me to make?

XD LOL! I would have laughed, too. Good times! Funerals are sad, but why not look on the bright side of life for EVERY situation? That does sound funny!

No it is not wrong. I am pretty sure when I die, I would NOT like crying at my funeral. Last week I went to a funeral of my dearly departed Grandmother, and I wrote a poem. Most of it was a bit of a tear jerker, but right in the middle of it I put something that made the whole family laugh... laughter is the best way to heal someones pain, and you know, even if you didn't know him that well and you laughed, then you know what? I think he would have as well...

Don't feel bad... if it were my funeral, I would be pleased!

Good luck to you and I hope this helps you!

I don't care what you were laughing at it WAS RUDE! If I was that boys' mother I would have walked over and punched all of you in the face. Have some respect. The boy died brutally. A friend of mine died the same way at a very young age and if I saw anyone laughing, no matter what it was about, it would have been a double funeral that day.

i think maybe you and your friends could've stopped laughing sooner and that would've helped but overall its how people look at funerals. some say its a time to celebrate someones life so why not be real and human b/c your are. dont sweat it i think everyone has a funeral embarrassment or problem.

hahahahhaa. thats pretty funny...

well first, its rude/disrespectful to laugh at a funeral...though ur intentions were not projected towards the dead guy i think that the people around you probably thought opposite...next time try to laugh on the inside or something...

Depends...if you're laughing at a funny story about the deceased, then I don't think it is. I don't think it's appropriate to have a comic fest or loud laughing, but a little chuckle, I don't think is bad. Just as long as you're respectful.

Hey, you didn't know the guy but the other folks probably loved him dearly. Laughing would have been disrespectful unless your name is Mork from Ork.

the 1st situation is your fact "Is it incorrect to get caught..." i think of you be conscious of it incorrect to chuckle on the face of somebody whose brother basically died. 2d, you will desire to no longer circulate to a funeral in case you haven't any longer have been given any empathy for others.

I think in that instance,....yup! A little rude.If you would have known the guy and were talking about good times you shared with him that would be different. But think how his Mother felt when she heard you laughing. If you were his mother, what would you have thought?

Yes, you showed gross immaturity and a total lack of respect, you should have stayed away. I'm sure you made this person's family feel really good.
