I, like you, am pro-choice.
Why?
Well, I think that making it illegal will take the regulation out of the procedure, causing anyone to perform them, and taking way more lives than they say are taken legally. People are going to have them, no matter what. Making it illegal will not stop it (for that I point to smoking pot - think no one does it because it's illegal???), it will only make it more dangerous than it has to be.
Do I agree with it being used as a form of birth control? No. Using it in that way makes no sense. It is cheaper to pay the money to buy the birth control pills every month (insurance doesn't cover that, but will cover the cost of Viagra. Is that screwed up or what???) than to have even one abortion in a year. Insurance covers neither.
I can understand the argument that pro-life people have. I am a mother, and I could never have an abortion. But taking that option away from others because you don't like it isn't right either. Everyone is responsible for the choices they make in their life, and the judgement happens on the day you reach the pearly gates. No one on earth is qualified to pass judgement, so why is anyone worried if anyone else sins? If it is a sin, they will have to atone for it later on.
I think that forcing a victim of incest (9 or 10 years old) to have a baby, or a rape victim to carry a child to term is cruel and unusual punishment. I admire the hell out of the women that can do that, but I don't think I could do that. And I think that most women have that same view.
I hope that there aren't a lot of mean answers directed towards you because you have this view. I think it's everyone's individual choice, and every situation is different than another. You can't just say "no more, except for. . ." It needs to be all, because how do you draw the line? It's not as cut and dry as you think it is.

Abortion is MURDER! The woman's choice was made when she had sex. The best and only way to solve the problem is to not get pregnant if you don't want a baby. Use two forms of birth control if you really don't want a child. People say that a woman should have the right to choose, well she did! As for rape and incest I don't have a problem with the day-after pill. It keeps the fertile egg from attaching to the womb. Also someone should go to jail for the crime. The last point is if the woman's life is in danger. I would be willing to die, just to give my child a chance at life (before or after birth).

I believe that a woman has control of her own body and should have the choice to use birth control. If she fails with that then she should have the option of adopting her baby out. The only time an abortion should be allowed is if the woman was a victim of a violent crime such as rape or incest, or if the woman or the baby's life would be too high of a risk, like death. That is what I feel. Women have used abortion as birth control for far too long. Women are also doing those partial birth abortions. Can you imagine killing a baby while the mother is giving birth to it. That is so sick.

I have battled with this subject many times and have switched from one side to the next numerous times...
Since I am a male I have never had to deal with the choice of aborting a fetus or not so I put my view into the ideals of our founding fathers...
America is based on the concept of freedom... Although are freedom may be limited such as the freedom of speech and screaming in a theatre, the one ultimate freedom we have is freedom of choice...
Whether or not you believe having an abortion is moral, America has granted the people the right to choose... If you believe that an abortion is unethical then you don't have one... If you believe that there is nothing wrong with an abortion then you can have one...
The supreme court has recognized this freedom of choice and has ruled to uphold allowing the people to make their own personal choice in this matter so I stand by there decision...

Sometimes what people want is not right.
Sometimes what people want is not good for them.
I think the time to make a choice is before you get pregnant.
I think abortion is wrong except when neccessary to save the mother.
I think it is wrong that women can get an abortion without being exposed to both sides of the story - what is done to the baby and the dangers and detriments to the health and mental well-being of the mother.
I think uninformed abortion is a terrible and cheap thing, an idea that women have accepted as liberation, when it is, in the big picture, making victims of them as well as the aborted babies.

I am against abortion in almost all cases.
It is ok when the mother's life is in jeopardy. I am up in the air on rape/incest.
For the female that has sex, gets pregnant, tough. DO NOT HAVE SEX AND EXPECT TO GET TO AVOID THE CONSEQUENCES.
If you can stop life from living, you are killing it. Pro abortion people are intellectually dishonest about this. If a person who is believes in abortion can honestly admit this, I can have respect for their position. I have yet to meet one.
Also, if it is her choice, then the laws must be changed for a man to have all responsiblity removed.
Society cannot allow the lack of sexual morality nor to let people do what they want. Look at how the decline of sexual morality has destroyed this country. Rap videos for one. Too many people use sex to get what they want and end up lonely and unfulfilled. I have seen many unmarried females with children and they are not satisfied.
Like it or not, this issue is more than just abortion.

1) Abortion should be as safe as any medical procedure can be.
2) You reduce the amount of abortions by reducing the need for abortions, which means both a comprehensive sex education and awareness program and a change in the status of women in society.
3) I feel that it is a terrible and tragic waste all around and steps need to be taken so women do not have to face this caliber of decision.
(P.S. Outlawing abortion does nothing. Women will still seek abortions, as they have throughout history.)

I am pro choice because I think women have the right to choose rather or not to have a baby. However, if I were to get a woman pregnant I would want her to have the baby unless a doctor told me there would be something wrong with the baby.

Each case is different. But if a woman isn't capable of raising a child then abortion might be the right thing! I do not approve of using abortion as birth control! It is the woman's choice as to what's right for her baby and herself!

If people always "need to be able to do what they want," then why do we have laws against rape, child molestation, the murder of born children, etc.? I'm sure you've heard it said that our rights stop where another's rights begin. No mother should have the right to kill another living human being because that human being somehow interferes with her life. Every baby is innocent. No baby deserves death. See:
