There's the ethnic neighborhoods on Devon Ave. North along the lake are the campuses of Loyola and Northwestern. Wind your way up Sheridan Rd for a view of the large homes along the lake, stopping off at Bahai Temple.

If you're a shopper, you can do better than the massive malls on Touhy between Central and Lehigh. Go north on I-94 towards Old Orchard. Go further north to Gurnee Mills (across from Six Flags Great America). Even further north across the Wisconsin border to the outlet malls in Kenosha.

Cycling type? Go to the trail in Caldwell Woods (between Caldwell and Milwaukee) and take that north to the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Of course, take a drive down Lake Shore Drive to downtown Chicago and the lakefront. Check the papers, there may be a lakefront festival going on. And there's the fireworks at Navy Pier 3 nights/week during the summer.

Hope this helps...

Explore Milwaukee Ave. going towards downtown. Lots of unique clubs and restauarnts in the area. It is a very popular area to just stroll or drive around. Lots to see and do -- and you are not far from there.
