what's the scientific explanation for these concepts? does intuition and feeling come from the spirit or the mind?

I think that instict is hardwired behavior. It is a built in response to certain stimuli, like reflex. Intuition is usually a subconscious response: it's not hardwired, but the conscious mind is not aware of where the information comes from. Feelings, are fuzzy logic, often more emotional than mental thoughts, and tend to reveal a measurement of value instead of factual veracity.

If I am wrong and you really want to know and are willing to exercise your brain, then go to bfskinner.org, download the program "The Analysis of Behavior". It is free but it is not child's play. If you understand Epictetus, and the Buddha, this book may bring it all together.

Feelings are subjective, intuition implies something higher and less concrete than visceral knowledge, which is instinct.
