Did you have to fight for it in court? What happened? My husband has had full custody of his daughter for over a year because her mom signed over custody and now that he is happily married and expecting another child, she wants her daughter back. Has anyone experienced this type of situation? Or had to go to court to keep the custody you already have? I don't think it will be easy for her to do. But I am interested in other fathers experiences. Thanks!!!

my husband went through the same thing. his ex wife signed custody of their 1 year old son to him and then when we met and married she found out that i was pregnant and sued him for custody of their son. im not sure what will happen in your case, but with my husband the judge threw it out because she had already signed over custody to him ,therefore she had given her parental rights away.

My husband received court papers in 2002 concerning his daughter. His ex had moved to another town and became involved in drugs and alcohol. Her four children were place in protective custody til a court hearing.
We attended the court hearing. My husband's ex was ordered to go to rehab. The grandmother was awarded custody of the children (there were four, only one belonging to my husband)and she was told that her daughter was not allowed to be around the children after she got out of rehab.
Well the grandmother didn't listen to the judge and the children were taken away from the grandmother and placed in foster care.
My husband had already filed for custody of his daughter. After the longest nine months I've ever seen, he was awarded custody.
With the mother having supervised visitation. My husband had the right to decide when the supervised visits would stop. After a year my husband stopped the supervision and allowed the mother to leave with her. This was after she completed AA and drug rehab.
His ex has taken him back to court for custody but the judge has told her no, not once, not twice, but three times.
You see the mother, in the past, had tried suicide twice, showed up at our house with a gun threatened us, threatened to kill her kids, threatened her social worker and family and even assaulted a police officer (twice).
As for the other three children, they are still in the states custody.

Um in NY State not many. They always favor the mother from Albany county through Saratoga county, from what I know. The mother could be a hoe and unfit and have a gangster drug dealing boyfriend. And the father could be a great father and have the perfect set up for his child, but guess what it don't matter the mother will always get custody always. It's not at all fair!

first of all, i do no longer think of the mummy can in basic terms take them out of the state, in actuality, i'm useful. no longer except she already has been provided finished actual custody after the separation. And except there's a reason the daddy don't have the youngsters a minimum of the various time (interior the eyes of the decide, if it surely gets taken to courtroom), the mummy shouldn't get finished the two. it is going to be joint. He might desire to combat for it by applying bringing it to courtroom if he needed, however. He might in basic terms could coach that the mummy isn't worth. And he can care greater perfect for the youngsters. He will not be able to get rid of her rights because of the fact she desires to go out of the state, yet she will't take them far flung from him the two. the only way the mummy might desire to get rid of his rights is by applying taking it to courtroom, which will value hundreds of greenbacks. Are they married? If she leaves him, they could take a seat with legal professionals and characteristic papers drawn up for their rights. Taking it to courtroom is expensive, and the mummy will could try this so as to take the youngsters out of the state without the fathers permission. each and all of the dad might could do is call the law enforcement officials. Technically, thats kidnapping.
