I've heard of TiVo or something that can skip commercials. But, I just watch two or three shows at the same time, and use the remote control so I can surf back and forth between what I'm interested in while the commercials air. When will commercials become obsolete?

I still watch commercials…oh wait…that's one part of many aspects of my job. I work in television and am responsible for the commercials to air (plus the shows, plus getting syndicated shows ready for air…etc..)
Also, commercials will never become obsolete, want to know why? Because when they do become obsolete so will the shows you are watching, and television itself will stop existing since commercials are what pays the station's bills and pay for the production of the shows.

Commercials will never become obsolete because if a company wants to reach you, they'll get ya! The funniest commercial I've seen is the Geico one with a young woman and Little Richard sitting at the kitchen table("Mashed potatoes and graaavvvy! Cranberry sauce! Woooooahhhhoooo!").

Commercials will never be obselete. However, you might notice that more ads will go into tv shows themselves, such as someone drinking a Budweiser while watching a Samsung tv.
I don't mind watching ads, like I'm doing at this moment. But at the same time I'm also on my laptop :)

with some of the garbage on tv today sometimes the commercials are better than the shows and they have a bigger budget
who did not watch the superbowl to see the game and the new ads.

If you want to see GOOD acting then watch the commercials. If an actor can make you believe that it is exciting to use a certain brand of wood polish they are a good actor.

Not much. Unless they are funny. We specifically watch superbowl commercials, as they are usually (not always) pretty good.

i have comcast dvr so i usually will record a show i want to watch and watch it later so i can fast forward over commercials

i wish i could skip them, i can after i record on my dvr. but just watching it i do look at commercial some are comical.

Its style of demanding, sorry, ya it sucks that animals wade through. the actuality is that we've human beings international huge that are put in even worse circumstances than those animals.

I switch channels when the commercials come on....I can't stand them!
