Freedom is the most important thing if you want to fully enjoy life. I've known Cubans who bore scars from being publicly whipped like Christ was said to have been, beaten for being gay.In North Korea a teen-ager was sentanced to 23 years in prison for listening to David Gray (a cool & mellow singer). In Syria a woman was stoned to death for adultry because she looked at a man who wasn't the man she was forced to marry. When you look at punishments given around the world, it makes you appreciate the freedoms we have even more. And when you look at how many brave souls have died to protect our freedoms it makes you honor freedom all the more.

Freedom is the one thing in life that makes all other things possible.
When people say freedom they often think of civil liberties, but it goes so much further than that. There is economic freedom, without which stuff would be much more scarce and there would be less variety & innovation. There is freedom of religion, which is not complete unless you also have freedom FROM religion. There is freedom of thought, which is critical to allowing the full potential of human creativity.
This world would be so much better if our freedoms were only restricted so that we could do no harm to the health, property, or freedoms of others.

Freedom is an interesting concept. It evokes much emotion during holiday speeches. The book, Beyond Freedom and Dignity has some interesting perceptions.
Jerry Spence said something about being easy in the harness.
I've heard that doing what you love is freedom and loving what you do is happiness.
When you no longer have to consider whether you are free, happy or satisfied, you have it.

Full freedom is required to reveal the true "you". Without it you will be in disguise. There are countries that does not allow full freedom. There are religions that does not give full freedom to its believers. None of these slaves have the courage to admit that they are under slavery. They will say, they like it.
Full freedom allows each individual to reach his/her original shape. Some will expand like a tied baloon in a vacuum bottle. The solid ones will remain without change.

Absolutely - if anything, it's the most essential thing in life that makes life worth living. The largest sin in life is enslaving another man and holding him into bondage through your own beliefs, thus making him forfeit his own thought, action, and will.
