Relaxers are not good for any ones hair . I have 7 biracial children in my home ( foster care) and I would never put a relaxer or a perm in none of their hair . It kills the root , it can burn the scalp ,and it can also dry the hair and scalp . Try a flat iron but make sure you get a heat protectant spray and spray that on his hair before using the iron . (It will protect against damage and breakage ) Nexxus makes a really good one , its about $12.99.

In your previous question you mentioned your child was 2.. I think you might want to wait a few more years before you put chemicals on his head. Let his hair grow if he likes it, and you can manage it. If not, then get him a hair cut so you can manage it. The most important thing to remember is to keep the hair and scalp from drying out.. use the right products and it won't be difficult.

Noooo please don't relax his hair, you will damage it when he has nothing wrong. It will cause breakage and relaxing the hair is a vicious cycle, you will always want to do his roots and that's soooo unhealthy. Cutting it really short is the best way to manage it. Anyways its nicer to have it natural.

I dont think so im african american and we never put relaxers in our child hairs, its just not the things to do, plus i dont think it would look right. you are better off leaving it as it is are take him to get a hair cut that would best suit him.

relaxer might be too harsh, I heard that there is an oil that you can get so I would call a salon to get the proper name since I don't know it.

I wouldnt..the chemicals are really strong.. I would start him some dreads instead! Try consulting a hair dresser.. one who specializes in different ethnic hair types.
