and your best friend been friends ? And are you still as close? My best friend and I have been friends for 20 years and even though we live close we don't get to see each other as much. My husband has become my best friend, but I don't think anyone can truely take the place of a best 'Girlfriend' .

i've been friends w/ my bff for about 18 yrs, and although we are still pretty close, like you and your own bff, we dont get together as often, either. it's a shame, but that's what growing up and life seems to do, bring you closer yet farther away from what you love and hold dear.

My best friend and I were close for 6 years, from the time I was 4 to the time I was 10.
When I was 10, my best friend's mother and one of her friends hated me so much that they convinced him to beat me up while they watched. They did nothing to break up the fight because they wanted to see me hurt.
I have not had a best friend since then. I am now 55.

I have 3 friends that I've known since elementary school....so that would be....ummm...about 27 years. They are all still my best friends and I see and talk to them all the time. I would die without them!
