Black skin (people from Africa, Native Australians, African-Americans, Caribbeans, Other Islands) is darker than northern European skin because of the increased amount of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the pigment in the skin and protects the skin from sunlight. This keeps black people looking younger than white skinned people. The melanin pigment in the skin protects the skin from sunlight and slows down the aging process.

Dark skinned babies often develop higher levels of Melanin After they are born, more often in mixed race babies.

BUT, not all babies are born light, some are just born with the color they will be, more often than not, very dark skinned babies already have their color or level of Melanin.
While a baby may appear light skinned, sometimes causing some stress to mom and dad, over time, usually withing the first six month, the Melanin begins to darken the skin to the tone it will be for a long time.

In fact, in newborn boys of dark skinned parents, their color may appear very pale, when in fact if you look at the outer edge of the testicles you can actually see the color developing, usually the color that they will be in a few months. Nature is just amazing.

It's a lot like facial features as well. A newborn often looks NOTHING like what they will look like in 3 months or even 6 months.

Homemade skin whitening products are by far the cheapest and safest solution to the brown spots which trouble you so much. Read here https://tinyurl.im/aHLUF

They are very effective and at the same nurture the skin, so that you will not only have a whiter skin, but a healthier one too.

Each and every person wants a clean and radiant skin. Some spend fortunes on cosmetic products that will lighten the skin and remove all the imperfections, others spend their money on esthetic operations in the hope that their skin will look perfect. Lastly, there are people trying to fake a healthy skin by using all kinds of makeup that will cover the imperfections and leave the impression that the skin is healthy and has no scars, wrinkles or spots.

All these people are looking for a way through which they can make their skin look good. Yet, what they have not taken into consideration is the power of natural ingredients. Fruits, vegetables and products coming from animals are great sources of anti-oxidants and are rich in substances which can whiten the skin, moisturize it, attenuate the fine lines and wrinkles and give it elasticity.

African decended babies are born lighter just the same as all races, they have never been exposed to the sun yet. Children who can tan are born very white, and the amount of melanin in their skin determines how dark they can become when they're exposed to sunlight. Babies of African descent have more melanin, so with sun exposure they get darker than most other races. Some Mexican Indians get darker than African Americans in the summer. I have a friend who turns almost coal black in the summer although his ethnicity is Mexican Indian. All races of people get tan lines, too!!

Well, I don't know about all black babies, but my child was born with very light skin and straight wavy hair. Now he is very dark and handsome. So to answer your question, I don't know and don't think anyone else does either unless they have first hand knowledge like myself. Also, it may have a lot to do with their ancestors. An age old question has been answered which is, "are are we all human? And I don't think you could have light skinned babies who turn dark if they were not mixed before.....

Sometimes and it's because the pigment in the skin can take a while to come in. If the baby is half black the full pigment could take up to a year to show.
