The one that killed the most people was the Tsunami. Katrina was the worst for America because of incompetence.... but only Americans care about that. As to the earthquake... the west is still pretending that didn't happen.

Katrina
I was in Biloxi the next morning helping deliver aid vehicles full of food and water. It was really unthinkable. The veterians hospital was flooded up to the 4th floor and the smell of the sewage and the wreckage would take you're breath away.
People's cars were upside down and backward in drainage holes under the road, the road was gone along the beach, you could see freezers and car parts and water heaters all the way to Interstate 10, it was heartbreaking to see people's family photos in frames in piles of sticks where the water rose, then resided.
There are hundreds still without power and it has really hurt our shrimping industry in Bayou La Batre because they still have not recieved any help, so many of them are still in FEMA trailers (some don't even have those). The week of the storm big coporate shrimping companies came to the Gulf because there wasn't any fishers or shrimpers because their boats were tossed in the trees like bath toys.
We're all still trying to recoup, and even though many abused FEMA money, there are thousands that were denied and are still living without power, a home, or anything.

Tsumani. Pakistan, Democrats and Katrina in that order.
Now that I have your attention.
I am the founder of the SPLATT (short for Stop PLATe Tectonics) political party. We are an environmentalist wacko movement. Our platform is shaky. It's to eliminate earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis and the damage that they cause.
Our mascot: the flatworm
Theme songs: "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Whole Lot of Shaking Going On", "I Fell the Earth Move Under My Feet", "Hunka Burning Love", "Ebb Tide", "Surfin’ USA", “Catch a Wave”

Environmental clean-up agent: Lava soap *
Favorite food, breakfast: squash pancakes
Favorite food, lunch: blue plate special
Favorite food, supper: plank steak

Pakistan is still on going as far as the resulting death toll, which naturally we don't hear much about, and it is the worst...as far as Katrina, most Americans probably don't realize that many parts of our southern central coast remains totally destroyed, a national tragedy.
