ok think of you triangle as a square cut in half. ( like a sandwich cut diagonally) so the longest side is the hypotenuse. so the other two sides are the legs. so if u take the two legsmultiply them together that would give u the area of the entire square. however! u only need to know what ur triangle is right? so then u divide it in half to get ur triangle. :) hope this helps!
