I am a african american and thailand single mother of two boys. I been through alot of struggles and hardships in life just to name a few things, I been homeless living on the streets with my older son, I became pregnant at 16, I've been in the system, my mom doesn't love me as a mother should, she tries to hide the fact that I'am mixed with black, so she doesn't have no contact with me or my children. She always says that I do not embrace her side of her culture, I tried to tell her that if she would have raised me it would have been different so therefore I can not help to embrace the black side of me. Even though I'am 31 and accomplished not what I really want but some, I feel that I have too share my story of how God and my children help me to keep me keeping on. I'am back in school to get a B.S in famiy studies, hopefully next year I'll be done. It has been very hard. When I get through I hope to work in a field where I can help other young single mothers who gave up hope.

It helps to take a class in creative writing or writing short stories , novels etc. There are alot of helpful things in writing books. I love one called Writing Down the Bones. Anything that keeps you writing during each day. Set aside time each day where no one bothers you and write anything even if it is a grocery list or a wish list.

Keep a journal of thoughts and ideas of what you want to write about. When you are ready just write. Write from your heart and forget your mother or the people next door or anything or anyone else. Write as if tomorrow was your last day to tell a story. It won't be perfect. It won't be free of grammatical mistakes or spelling mistakes but that is what "edit " is for..

I know your struggles. My grandchildren are bi-racial and it has caused division in my family too. My grand kids and kids mean more to me than anyone in the world. I want to finish a novel so they can be proud and say--My mother/ grandmother wrote that!

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't wite the story!

Good Luck and let me know when you have written it! I will buy the first copy!

The first part is inspiration to write a book and having something to write about. From your details, you already have plenty of both.

The next part is deciding what you want to say. Choose the events, thoughts and feelings that will best express your message.

Then choose how you want to introduce these events, thoughts and feelings to the reader. Then just write. The first draft does not have to be perfect, just something that you can understand. After you finish your draft set it aside for a while.

Then come back to read it with a fresh eye. You may decide to rearrange some parts, reword others, leave some out, put others in. It is a process and can be tedious at times. Don't get discouraged.

It may take many, many drafts to get it just right, but it will be worth it. The main thing is to just start. Good luck.

I feel bad for you. Wow!!! Well first thing you do is write down some ideas for the book. Then you should pick the one you like best. Then write some facts about the idea if there is any if not, then write what you want to happen with the book. Finally you start to write it. Good luck and I hope you finish school. Well dont worrie you are not the only single mother in world because I happen to be one.

1. Figure out what your book will be about.
2. Make an outline
3. Write chapter 1
4. Read and revise chapter 1.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all the chapters of your book.

It's hard but if you have the drive you'll be able to make it.

You could also join fictionpress.net to help you out. Or message me and I could help you, guide you, along the way.

You just need a drive and a plan.

If u wanna start writing a book u have to learn what u wanna write about. After that then start thinking about ur plot, characters, settings, and resolution. When that's over then think about how it starts, what happens in the middle, and how did they solve it. Then after ur done doing that start writing it down on paper then after u finished writing it, think about if u want it to be better and if not revise it then go publish it.

Just sit down and start writing. You don't need a computer or anything fancy. Lord knows Hemingway didn't have a computer of writing classes.

Get your computer, open microsoft word and start typing...you might want to outline the book before you start writing...also if you have never written anything before, you might want to take a creative non fiction class at your local JC.

after a difficult life, and a brilliant vision like that, how could you fail? start writing, and see where it takes you

if you're in school, visit career services or your school's equivalent office and ask how to get started. Definately ask around wherever you're getting your degree from
