Stridex pads. They dry off almost instantly.

I'm 18yrs old and I have been really taking care of my face/skin since I was about 10yrs. I use Clean and Clear facial cleanser. And wash my face every night before I go to bed. I don't break-out, my face is smooth and clear. Try telling her to wash her face every day or night. Also, tell her to use facial lotion after washing, this will keep her face from drying out. Make sure whatever touches her face is clean (phone, pillow, HANDS, sheets, cover,&etc.) These things will definetly led to break-outs.
Also, somethings she may eat may cause break-outs(too much acid..tomatoes, chocolate, or even not enough water) She should drink enough water each day, this will fight against acne and help produce a healthier looking skin.
Now for the facial cleanser, its all depend on her skin. For me clearisil is too strong for my face, Noxema works good, but only for a certain amount of time and then it starts to dry out my face. The Neutrogena facial cleanser also works a wonder, I use this if
I can't get clean n' clear.
Make sure she starts taking care of her face now, because puberty is about to start @ 13yrs old and some people body chemicals and changes may cause acne.

instead of having her splash the water have her use a nice soft cotton facecloth with maybe oxy or a cleanser with salycylic acid in it to get rid of her breakouts. make sure she rinses super well. she needs to use a non-comedogenic moisturizer after or she'll dry out too much. oh wait even better idea what about maybe noxzema (cold cream type) then she can wipe off with face cloth, no splashing, then teach her to use an astringent applying with cotton pads then the moisturizer i mentioned. this is pretty much the routine i used through my whole adolescence and honestly maybe got 3 pimples ever! good luck just teach your daughter that it's fun to take care of her skin and to have a routine like this. again good luck

my sister has had bad acne ever since she was 9 years old. she was on prescription medication for it and tried tons of different ways. the only thing that worked for her is ProActive. i use it too. and if she doesnt like splashing water on her face, set the first 2 applications in the shower and have her apply them while she showers. then, when she gets out, have her put the lotion on. it works great!
and if ProActive is too expensive for you, i've found that these work the same: St. Ive's Apricot Scrub (dont get no-name brands, the sand is too rough). Noxema. and Dove facial lotion.
these work the exact same! its actually what i am using. i just leave them in the shower cuz its faster and easier to do and doesnt make a mess!
good luck! and make sure that she knows that she is beautiful no matter what!
oh yeah, and if Noxema dries out her skin too much, she can use dove body scrub (with the little blue beads) on her face. it will scrub her little pores. :)

Why the aversion to water? Does she shower? She can wash her face in the shower-I imagine she can't avoid getting her face wet in the shower, right?
Have her try Olay Daily Facials. They are cloths that have cleanser in them. All you do is wet them and they foam up. You can probably then use a washcloth to wipe off the foam.
Good luck!

Make sure she showers every day. I really like the facial cleansers that Aveeno has put on the market lately. They're effective but not too harsh on young skin.

Hi, I have had acne since I was 16. The only thing that has worked for me is proactiv. Before I used that I used Nutrogena deep cleansing foam which was also good but not as good as proactiv. It is also easy to use. Sorry not sure what to do about her not wanting to splash water on her face.

try putting a gentle cleanser (not soap) in the shower -- I often wash my face in the shower -- less splashing around that way.
The cleansing cloths are also good, and can be cleaned away without splashing.

Cetaphil soap works good. Have her use a washcloth if she doesn't like splashing water on her face. Also, oil of olay wipes are really good to use in a pinch and use quickly. Baby wipes are cheaper of course and do almost the same thing.

Go to www.clinique.com and order her the 3 step system. It works excellent on all skin types, which you can pick which one is the best for her. It costs me about $50 every 3 months. They also have a great skin cleansing system for men also...so check that out if you know of any men that are looking too!

Just soap and water.
But acne is not normally caused by dirt. If she starts getting any significant acne, get some nonprescription medication with Benzoyl Peroxide to start with. If it does not work after using it as directed for a month, then take her to the doctor for some Retin-A cream.
Acne medications are very effective when used correctly.
