How long after I stop taking my birth control pills will I more than likely become pregnant? I have been on bc for about 5 years straight. I am 27 and planning on stopping my bc in Janurary so that I can become pregnant next year.

I got pregnant within just a few months after stopping mine. It can change from person to person. I don't think that there is a set time. I was not even supposed to be able to have kids and was on the pill for the hormones because of endometriosis problems. I stopped them for insurance reasons and then boom I got pregnant. So I would think that it would depend on each girl and her body. Good luck to you. My babies are a true blessing.

Well, I stopped taking the pill (had been on it for a couple of years, but not as long as you) and it only took me and hubby two months to become pregnant. The first month I believe the pill is still active (as in it takes 30 days before it wears off), and I got pregnant the month after that.

That should be fine.
Use a natural BC method for at least 3 months after quitting.
Let all synthetic hormones leave your body before you conceive.

Technically, about two weeks to a month after its possible to get pregnant, but will probably take a little longer then that.

they say to allow 6 months to a year after stopping BC.....but from what i've seen it usually happens in 3-6 months...go get one of those home fertility monitors so you can know when you are ovulating...that should make conception easier...good luck!!!

PS...start taking your prenatal vitamins and folic acid now...stop smoking...try to exercise and eat healthy...

I think it's probably a year to 18 months or so.
