My ipod got stolen earlier today, My bag was snatched and that was in it, I only got it on the 28th of may and I checked and its under warranty. I reported it to the police so I have proof it really did get stolen but my friend broke hers and apple replaced it, Ive checked the warranty and it states -
It does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or non-Apple products; (b) to damage caused by service performed by anyone other than Apple; (c) to a product or a part that has been modified without the written permission of Apple; or (d) if any Apple serial number has been removed or defaced.

It doesnt mention anything about theft or so on so Is it likely they would replace it?

Stealing isnt nice :(

Its always worth a try and if they dont seem like they are going to do it, go completely ghetto on them and scream and that usually works.

Sorry to be the one to give you the bad news but Apple will not replace it.
Apple's warranty covers the Ipod not working correctly. It is not an insurance policy against theft.
Can you imagine how much money Apple would pay out to every person that asks Apple to replace it when it has been stolen? Unfortunately for you, there are many scammers out there that would gladly go to the police and falsely claim their Ipod was stolen make out a report and send it to Apple asking for a replacement. There is no way Apple can prove the person is lieing or not.
I am sorry that yours got stolen, it's unfair that the thief could not get their own Ipod the same way you got yours, hard work and saving for one.

theft doesn't count. they claim that it is negligence on the part of the owner. it happened to me. i would worry more about the police finding the guy. if there was a cellphone in the bag, they might be able to track it. they won't budge either. they had to lose a class action lawsuit to replace some people's ipod batteries. i hope that the police can find it though. remember to cancel any credit cards and watch for their uses.

I would call the apple store and tell them that your ipod got stolen and if your warranty will cover it.

Sorry to hear your stuff got stolen. It's happened to me before and it SUCKS! Unfortunately, there's pretty much no chance that Apple will replace it. You can scream all you want--they'll just hang up on you.

It's okay to be angry and pissed off, but eventually, you just have to get over it.

no, you have to give them back the broken one to get it replaced and thats only if its under warranty or registered. the warranty will not cover being lost or stolen. sorry

I highly doubt it since they're a business and I'm sure Steve Jobs is drooling every time someone has their ipod stolen. But I could be wrong...

I don't think the warranties cover theft...
