If you have Gran Turismo 4 you can plugin a digitial camera or USB drive. Then when you take photos in game you can transfer them to this device.
If you have a PSP you can connect the two and in certain games unlock extras. I.e if you connect Metal Gear Acid to Metal Gear Solid 3 you can unlock extra cards and face paints.
Socom 3 and Socom on the PSP will unlock new weapons.

Its mostly used for the headsets for online gaming and keyboards for the same reason. On socom 3 you can use a usb memory stick to download maps. And like the other person said about the camera and connectivity with the psp.
