If it was in a proud sort of way like how black people use their word with each other I wouldn't be offended. But otherwise, I still wouldn't be offended but feel sorry for the other guy because he'd come off as self-hating.

If it's someone I know closely then I would not be offended but I would look at them weird. If it was another chinese person that I did not know , sure I would be offended because it's a stranger insulting me.

I can never imagine how one can use a derogative term but not in a mean way or anything.

You don't call someone mother-f**ker to mean how he loves his mother.

If a person of my race addresses me with a derogative term usually reserved for my race, I won't be offended but I will surely feel sorry for him because he is trying to act like he is not one of my race. He is trying to deny his ethnicity with words which is impossible and pathetic.

If you were black would you be offended if another black person called you a "Nigerian" (they blocked out the other word) ? If you were a white person, would be offended if another white person called you a honky or a cracker? It's all the same.
