If I place the pointer on open or close or where ever, the program is opened automatically without me having to click it. I need to stop this.

It sounds like you have the mouse or pointer set to auto select. Check your mouse and pointer settings.

In the control panel open folder view/ general tab, put a check next to double click to open! (at the bottom)

If you're using Windows, you need to go adjust your mouse settings. Go to your Control Panel and then click Mouse. Fart around in there to find things having to do with sensitivity and speed. Adjust accordingly.

This should fix your problem.
