Levis. Levi Strauss was a immagrant tent maker who moved to the the gold rush area. He began making what has become the familiar blue denim Levis. And they sold like hotcakes. The clothes miners brought with them were destroyed after one day's work.

This was when Levi Strauss brand jeans came into existance. Levi's and canvas type shirts, because mining was rough work and the levi's held up much better
