If you took the time to look in a dictionary you would know that they are in no way the same thing.
How are eggs different from bacon? aren't they both breakfast food?

The Nazy Eagle, was the same Eagle than Usa, because Usa, was founded on Masonic principles, and Free-masons, Illuminatis of the time, Prescott Bush, and the British crown financed Hitler. That was the first attemp to this New World Order....

Just look at ALL those links, you will at least understand why I think like that....
My way of beeing Patriotic, is to try to imform the People, the media, everyones, to educate the world. Peace can exist, but so many peoples work hard since a long time to make you think otherwise, we just must be educated.....Knowledge is power....
Nothing like that would have happenned, if eveyone had be fully aware of events...

"Patriotism" is a nice word for "Nationalism". They mean
exactly the same thing. There might be a slight difference
in the implication of degree. That is, if you wave your flag
you are patriotic. If you have your flag and shoot people,
you might be nationalistic. However, the difference is only
a relatively recent conotation.

I do not love my country, per se. (Already people are hissing)
I love the Constitution, I love many of the people around me,
I would go to war to defend many of these ideals - but you
know, I'd go to war defending these ideals even if the problem
was in a different country.

Sure, I like where I live, but I've been to lots of different places
in the world, and I could imagine living there too.

I really don't see why fighting for somebody from Nebraska
is worth it but fighting for somebody in Africa is not...

I think nationalism is generally a BAD thing. And yes, that
means I think patriotism is a BAD thing.

I think sticking up for principles is a good thing.

Ordinary Patriotism is a normal and acceptable personal value referring to the emotion of considering one's country and one's national heritage important and worth speaking up for.

Fanaticism is a mental illness, taking the form of an obsessive/compulsive disorder surrounding one's feeling about some social object. It is possible to be fanatical about a sports team, a lifestyle option, one's national identity, one's religion, or any of an almost infinite number of social objects. In any case, fanaticism is unhealthy, and a person so afflicted should be urged to seek professional help.

The difference could be stated in terms of the Serenity Prayer:

"God grant us the serenity to accept the things that cannot be changed, the courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other."

It is possible for a serene mind to encompass ordinary patriotism, but fanaticism is not a serene state. Fanaticism is a form of cowardice, while ordinary patriotism implies everyday social courage. The wise may be patriotic, but are never fanatical.

Patriotism : Zealous love for one's country
Fantatic: Overenthusiastic BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF REASON.

One shows proper respect and appreciation for the country that has given you the rights that you currently possess. The other is a form of insanity that only brings shame upon your country.

Americans who are not patriotic need to go to another country if they do not appreciate the privileges afforded them here. Americans who are fantatics also need to move elsewhere because they are the reason that so many people from other countries dislike Americans in the first place.

Patriotic is Love for your country.
Fanaticism is crazy about a team or player.

Just because someone believes in their country and way of life doesn't mean that person is bad. It just means that they care about what they perceive as the best way of living life.

The crazy people are the ones who blow themselves up for an imaginary god.

Flag waving isn't patriotism. Patriotism is caring enough to defend your nation when it's needed, but working to change it when you know it needs fixing.
