I was just wondering is this isa legit chassis number and if or where i would go to find info on the owner and condition of this auto

Call your local Benz dealer they should be able to find some info other wise make a Friend in Germany and have them contact the Benz factory they usually have the original owner info.

car should be an 03-05 American Eclass sedan.
have a carfax report run on the car and it will tell you everything you would possibly want to know. If that doesn't work have a benz advisor pull the vehicle history from their computer, should tell you absolutely everything ever done to the car since day one, unless somebody went away from the dealer.
