Which search bar are you talking about? If it's Yahoo search bar, click the little pencil and hit "Clear Search History."

If it's Internet Explorer's search bar, other people here have given you good instructions. Tools--> Internet Options--> History--> Clear History.

If you are talking about the Yahoo search bar history. Then it is quite simple. You should, on the left next to the search bar, have a tab that looks like a pencil writing a squiggly line. Right click on that. Then click "Clear History". And that will delete it all.

you can't get rid of that setting, at least not as far as I know. but you can delete the words that come up by: clicking on the search bar so all past searches come up, put mouse on first word but don't click, and hit delete on ur keyboard continuously until all the words are gone.

If you want to cover your tracks :) go to: http://www.hidenow.com
its a free program, download and set it up (easy to do) then forever after all it takes to 'cover your tracks' is a mouse click, gets rid of cookies, records of sites visited, even empties your recycle bin. I use it myself.
