Guinea pigs are cheaper and easier to care for. Ferrets are a lot of fun, but are smelly. You must clean out their cages every other day, or it will smell up the whole house. I have owned both and prefer ferrets, but they are a lot of work, and are expensive to care for. Depending on how much money and time you have, Ferrets are very rewarding and loveable. Make sure you get one that isn't jumpy and spastic. If you get a guineau pig they are cute and cuddly and not so smelly. They do bite though so be careful to get an even tempered one.

A ferret they are much cooler. They are the funnest to have. They love to explore and hide in small areas though so make sure that you ferret proof your house. If you don't they can end up some where dangerous, and even outside so I suggest that you look up ferrets on the Internet to do some research before you get one that is if you decide to. If you are not willing to go through all of that and you just would like a cage animal then get a guinea pig, ferrets need alot of attention and exercise kind of like a puppy or something like that.

Guinea pigs and ferrets are two very different kinds of pets with unique needs. You need to do a lot more research on both species and decide what would fit best into your lifestyle. You know yourself and your situation better than anyone on here and you need to take the time to learn as much as you can about the need of both animals.

Depends
in what you want as a pet
Both of them can be pretty messy
and you would hav eto change them
every other day because they both pee and poop a lot
more than other rodents.
ferrets need more room to run around
and like to run over the house
so if you dont have all that free time
get a guniea pig
theyll sit down and watch a movie with you
on the coach or something
i have 3 pigs
and i love them all
but if u take them watch out they like
to go potty everywhere
but i trained mine
if they peed id pat them on the but
and tell them no..kinda like a dog
and put them back in ther cage
and let them out later
its up to you
theyre two diff animals
its what you want and can handle

dancing greek..you are really stupid for hitting guinea pigs for anything.
Piggies take a lot of care to keep them healthy. Mine are all over 6 years old. Most piggies die within 2 years because they're not cared for properly. The web will tell you all you need to know to keep a piggie healthy.
