Middle age technically is early to mid forties, assuming a life expectancy of 80-90, but when does a person's youth go away? Never if they keep an open mind and adapt with the times. I refuse to accept that I am only six years away from middle age! I feel like I've only just started to get it together-I'd hate to think that my life is already half way over! Most people think I am in my mid-twenties but I would hardly say that I am as immature as most twenty-somethings. It's a balance of youth and wisdom.

At the gym there's a poster that says middle age starts at 25. But I think it depends on how long you live. Say average age 80 so mid way would be 40.

I think middle age starts half way to your own death. In other words middle age is only in a serious persons life. I am a grown adult have 3 daughters and I still live life like I am 21!!! Its all in how serious you take life. Yes we all have responsibility and ups and downs, But Never let them take control of you and have fun!! Don't stop smiling and laughing, Don't be afraid to do what makes you feel young. to me there is NO middle age!

If you assume the average person lives to be 80-100years old, middle age would be 40-50years.
