The lyrics were written by her on a plane journey and there is a footage of this in the video. It was co-written by John Shanks.

K. DioGuardi and John Shanks wrote that song. I believe Hilary Duff co-wrote it.

If I had to guess I would say her sister Haylie since she did write alot of Hilary's songs.
