Hi. A diamond anvil can generate the highest static pressures that I know of. On the order of 1,000,000 atmospheres. The pressure in a fusion reaction is higher but not static.

The highest pressure ever obtained was April 15, 1980. The Delta Chelsae in NYC. I was having a late lunch with my girlfriend when my wife showed up early for our early dinner before a show. On top of all that the waiter was hounding me for another credit card because the first had been denied.

If that wasn't enough I had just left the accountants to sign the extension and give him a check for $ 57 grand. The account had been closed months ago. I was not sure what the penalty for bouncing a check to the IRS but I do now.
